DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

I am a digital producer and product manager that has produced a variety of digital products for film & television, publishing, and academia. These products include simple to complex websites, games, voice apps, and chatbots.

My design philosophy prioritizes collaboration and maintaining team morale. Ideally, the team has ample time during early discovery and scoping of a project, where everyone can feed into what the product will become. This also helps build enthusiasm among team members.

A clearly scoped project allows me to map out all the elements ahead of time and build an accurate roadmap. It also allows me to identify pain points, where perhaps we need to rely on other departments and third-party vendors. I can then plan for these parts of the project so that stress can be kept to a minimum and those elements can be delivered on schedule.

During development, I conduct regular check-ins with my team. I check to see if the timeframe of the elements they are working on match their initial estimates. I check to see if they need additional resources to facilitate their work. I have worked with small teams, where some tasks fall outside of the team's skillset. That's where I jump in and take on those tasks--those tasks may take longer to complete, but that shields other team members from the stress of those unknowns.

Thanks to that spirit of collaboration, my teams' performance has exceeded expectations, resulting in well-received products that we are proud of.
